Former CIA CIA Counter-Intelligence Officer Shelly Chauncey enters the race for the 7th Congressional district, the Pa. Former CIA Counter-Intelligence Officer Enters PA-7 Race: Former CIA Counter-Intelligence Officer Shelly Chauncey announced her bid Monday for the Democratic nomination in the 7th Congressional district.

Pa. Supreme Court Throws Out Congressional Maps: The state Supreme Court in a 4-3 vote ruled the current Congressional maps are unconstitutional and need to be redrawn by February 9th.

Greenleaf to Retire: State Sen. Stewart Greenleaf will announce Monday that he is retiring at the end of this year, creating another open seat in the southeast.

Wolf Ends 2017 With $11 Million on Hand: Governor Tom Wolf’s re-election campaign announced it ended 2017 with $11 million on hand, without any contributions by Wolf.

Legislative Election Update
Pa. Sen: Congressman Lou Barletta (R-Luzerne) announced the endorsement of over 100 members of the Republican State Committee.  “Put simply, Lou is one of us.  We are excited to give our time, our energy, and our votes to make sure that Lou becomes our next United States Senator,” the endorsement letter read.  
PA-9: State Sen. John Eichelberger (R-Blair) announced a slate of endorsements in his bid for the seat including Senator Rich Alloway, Senator Pat Stefano, Senator Wayne Langerholc, Senator Kim Ward, Rep. Paul Schemel, Rep. John McGinnis, Rep. Rob Kauffman, and Rep. Rich Irvin. “I’m gratified to have the support of men and women who’ve worked with me as county commissioner and state senator.  These are principled, reform-minded Republicans who’ve been in the thick of the battles to protect life, restrain government, and advance the freedom agenda. I’m honored to have them on our team,” Eichelberger said.

  1. I keep wondering if PA 9 gets rid of Altoona in the redistricting and give it to PA 5, giving Eichelberger’s area to Thompson and making a seat for Dave Reed.
