10/20 Morning Buzz

On TV: It’s that time of year. Shapiro-Richards, the Dems for Montco Commissioner, are on cable and broadcast starting today. Brian O’Neill, Republican for Philly City Council D10 went up yesterday on cable. Even Richard Haaz for Montco Court of Common Pleas is on the air.

Casey Bundler Blunder: Bob Casey’s staff confirmed that the Senator has “bundled” campaign contributions for President Obama.  Republicans are having a field day with the confusion.

Murphy Raises $200K: Rep. Tim Murphy pulled in over $200,000 in political contributions in Q3, has over $873,000 cash on hand, and Sen. Toomey is lending some fundraising help next month.

Barletta Protesters: Rep. Lou Barletta’s town hall hiatus is over, and protesters are at it again.  Here’s a bit of the coverage of a raucous Monday meeting in Barletta’s home base in Hazleton.

Toomey Turning 50: Sen. Pat Toomey isn’t letting his position on the supercommittee stop him from fundraising. The Pennsylvania Republican, who has held several fundraisers while on the panel, is upping the ante next month with his 50th birthday celebration on Nov. 16 at Sonoma.

Harrisburg Takeover: By a 177-18 vote, the House of Representatives voted to concur on amendments to a Senate bill that would allow the governor to declare a fiscal emergency in Harrisburg and could lead to a receiver being appointed to take control of the city government.

Tea Party for Casey Challenger: The Independence Hall Tea Party PAC endorsed a challenger to Sen. Bob Casey: Democrat Brain Kelly of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

And congrats to Maxwell Henderson, winner of our Joe Biden caption contest. Honorable mention to Montgomery County Commissioner Bruce Castor.
