Legislative Election Updates:

HD-90: Republican Rita Daywalt, a member of the Waynesboro Area School Board, has announced her candidacy for State House of Representatives for the 90th District. This will be a vacant seat following the announcement of Rep. Todd Rock’s (R-Franklin) retirement.

“I am a proven fiscal, as well as socially, conservative Republican who believes in term limits. I believe that public service is a sacrifice you make for the benefit of your community. It is not meant to be a lifelong career. As your representative I will work tirelessly to achieve true property tax reform and protect our 2nd Amendment rights. I am Pro Life and I will always work to protect the rights of the unborn,” said Daywalt.

HD-93: Rep. Ron Miller (R-York) will vacate his seat in order to fill Sen. Waugh’s (R-York), and a contender has emerged.

Ernest Merisotis is a self-titled Tea Party challenger, and he ran unsuccessfully for the seat in 2010 and 2012. The businessman and veteran, 49, is from York. He’s opposed to property taxes and wants to see a smaller, part time legislature in the state.

  1. Paindy is right! What kind of people are we anyhow? Several people made millions of dollars each year by sheltering a pedophile. And those people were in positions of public trust and held up as public role models. Why would Tom Corbett not act to bring the predator to justice as quickly as possible?

  2. Dear John Baer and Brad Bumsted: Why are you both trying to initmidate Kathleen Kane on doing her job on the Corbett/Sandusky investigations. The politicization of the Corbett AG office has hurt PSU and the State College economy not to mention delaying relief for Sandusky’s victims. Shouldn’t our current Acting Governor John Brabender and Baby Brian Nutt ( not to be confused with Roger Nutt of Turnpike fame) have to reveal what wonderful political advice they gave AG Corbett on the Sandusky matter? Shouldn’t someone on the Tom Corbett team explain why Ron Tomalis is hanging out at tax payer expense? Is someone trying to buy Tomalis’s silence on “something”? Where does the hunt for Ray Gricar stand? It is sad when the most credible voice on the Corbett/Sandusky matter is Signor Ferrari of casablancapa.com. http://trib.me/1djk2IA
