Legislative Election Updates:

SD-36: Representatives Gordon Denlinger (R-Lancaster) and Ryan Aument (R-Lancaster) are both seeking this Senate seat and have begun sparring on Twitter. SD-36 is currently held by Republican Mike Brubaker but he announced in June that he would not seek reelection. On Twitter, both Aument and Denlinger said they would only seek the Senate seat, and not re-election to their House seats.

HD-112: The Times Leader checks in on this member-vs-member redistricting battle. Freshman Rep. Kevin Haggarty (D-Lackawanna) must challenge fellow freshman and Democrat Rep. Frank Farina for the seat. The district includes more of Farina’s voters than Haggerty’s.

HD-164: The Inquirer profiled Rep. Margo Davidson (D-Delaware), highlighting her nebulous territory as a socially conservative Democrat. Davidson controversially voted against her party on school vouchers and in favor of restrictive abortion policy. Next year, Davidson will have a primary challenger, Billy J. Smith.
