2016 DNC Announces New Staff

DNCCThe 2016 Democratic National Convention team continues to expand.

The DNCC announced the hiring of five new staff members.

“Convention planning is in full swing and many of our major projects are well under way. By bringing on this diverse group of experts, we can hone in on our core functions as we continue to move convention forward on time, on task, and on budget,” said Rev. Leah D. Daughtry, CEO of the DNCC. “These additional staff reflect our continued commitment to making the 2016 Democratic National Convention the most inclusive and engaging in history.”

All five additions, along with their new positions and biographies, are included below:

Kyle Anderson, Director of Press Relations

Kyle joined the Delaware River Port Authority as Director of Corporate Communications and Community Relations in July of 2015.  Prior to that, he served as the Democratic Staff Director for the Committee on House Administration in Washington, DC. He has held senior communications positions with the Committee on House Administration and the Committee on Rules in the U.S. House of Representatives and also served as Communications Director for Rules Committee Ranking Member Congresswoman Louise McIntosh Slaughter of NY.  He has served as a diversity, communications and outreach consultant for several large corporations and organizations, on a local, regional and national level. Kyle has held management and operational positions in the broadcast industry and began his career at the Prudential Insurance Company of America in Newark, New Jersey. Kyle was born and raised in the City of Philadelphia and is a product of the Philadelphia public school system. He attended Swarthmore College, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.

Kelli Farr, Director of Press Operations

Kelli joins the Democratic Convention from Washington DC. She previously held the position of Vice President, Director of Tracking with American Bridge 21st Century and is a campaign veteran of various congressional, gubernatorial and issue campaigns. Kelli was born and raised in Martinez, California and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Government from Sacramento State University.

Jeffrey Gavin, Director of Security

Jeff recently retired from the U.S. Secret Service after 32 with the agency.  He had multiple assignments, the last of which was the Resident Agent in Charge of the Wilmington, DE office, a position he held for 10 years.  Prior to that, he was employed by Frank B. Hall & Company, now doing business as of Aon Corporation, New York, NY, as Vice President, International Property and Casualty Accounts.  During his employment there, he earned his Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter designation.  He was born and raised in Scranton, PA and attended the University of Scranton where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

Judy Magee, Director of Human Resources and Administration

Judy Magee, a Philadelphia resident, will be working as the Director of Human Resources and Administration.  Most recently Judy spent 3 years working in Savannah, Georgia as the Director of HR for The Marshes of Skidaway Island. Judy previous work experience includes directing human resource activities for Philadelphia region employers such as Friends Life Care Partners, Independence Blue Cross and Eden Autism Services.  Judy began her professional career as an attorney and then transitioned in to a career in Human Resources 17 years ago with a focus on employment and labor law, compliance and risk management.

Eric Munson, Director of Hall Operations

Eric Munson most recently served as Chief of Staff at the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty in New York City, helping to restructure the/that social services organization and their staff of 300. For the seven years prior, he served in the mayoral administration of Michael R. Bloomberg — as Chief of Staff as well as the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs at the New York City Department of Finance, and before that as Senior Legislative Representative in the Mayor’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, where he served as the Administration’s lead negotiator on more than 100 local laws. In the days immediately following Hurricane Sandy, Eric helped coordinate the City-FEMA joint effort to distribute food, water, and blankets to storm victims. Eric has a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University.

  1. Kudos to Kyle Anderson who did a great job in directing the public relations for the DNC. Look for greater things from this young brother.

  2. I am a white female and a registered Democrat. I have been on the Trump train since day one. I wold rather put my trust in Trump than have 8 more years of Obama under Hillary.

  3. Nice get in anding Kyle Anderson. A quiet, but highly effective player in Southeast Pa. arguably the East Coast. There’s nothing that guy is not aware of or capable of communicating to a broad audience.
