PA-6: Trivedi to Announce Candidacy Tuesday: Physician and veteran Manan Trivedi will run for Congress for the third time – but the first since Rep. Jim Gerlach announced his intent not to seek re-election.

Sources, Reports: Speaker Sam Smith to Retire: According to multiple sources, Speaker Sam Smith will retire at the end of this term.

Q4 Senate: Toomey Reaches $4M COH, Sestak has $1M: Toomey outraising a prospective opponent, and Casey showing strong numbers four years out from reelection.

PA-6: Rep. Bob Brady Backs Parrish: Congressman Bob Brady has thrown his support behind Democrat Mike Parrish.

PA-Gov: NorthCo DA Morganelli Endorses Wolf: The long-time Northampton County DA backed the candidacy of Tom Wolf for Governor.

PA-8: Steny Hoyer Visits Strouse Campaign HQ: The House Minority Whip was joined by Bucks County Commissioner Diane Marseglia and Jenni Murphy at a campaign rally in Bristol.

Legislative Elections Update:

HD-66According to multiple sources in and near the state House, Speaker Sam Smith (R-Jefferson) will retire at the end of this term.

HD-150: State Rep. Mike Vereb (R-Montgomery) announced his intent to seek re-election to his fifth term in the House. The district includes all of Collegeville Borough, Lower Providence and Skippack Townships and parts of West Norriton and Upper Providence Townships.
