Say it ain’t Solobay! It turns out that the Washington County lawmaker partook of the same Marcellus-sponsored Super Bowl for which we hosed Senate Pro Tem Scarnati. To Senator Solobay, Senator Scarnati, and any elected official considering whether to accept a lobbyist perk-fest, just don’t.

The reviews are in, and while America is officially exceptional, Santorum’s CPAC appearance was not. Sam Rohrer is back in action, so incumbents beware. Harrisburg Mayor Thompson is still in the news, and it still isn’t flattering. The Luzerne cash-for-kids scandal is ongoing. Initiatives to privatize liquor stores and public schools remain in the spotlight.

And the Post-Gazette’s Daniel Malloy is just absolutely on a role with musical puns re: Pat Toomey (aka Mos Deficit, aka Toomey and the Debt).

With well-known names in the mix for potential 2012 GOP candidates, the biggest challenge former senator Rick Santorum was to stand out in a group of big shots. It.. didn’t go so well.

He’s back! Sam Rohrer to Head Americans for Prosperity’s Pa. Chapter
No political figure in PA better reflects the Tea Party outlook more than former State Rep. and GOP gubernatorial candidate Sam Rohrer. Americans for Prosperity (AFP), a conservative group aligned with the Tea Party movement, announced today that Rohrer is taking over as state director of the PA chapter. Republican patrons of pork had better watch out.

State Rep. Curry Re-Introduces Turtle Bill Boxed Out Last Session
Curry has slowly and steadily pushed his bill through the legislative process and a diverse cadre of legislators have come out of their shells to support the measure, ranging from Greg Vitali (D-Delaware) to Scott Hutchinson (R-Venango).
