Endorsements and a tiff between a candidate and the NRCC headline this week’s list. You may notice that campaign finance news is conspicuously missing; fret not, we’ll have fundraising winners and losers for you next week. In the meantime, see who made this week’s list.
Shaughnessy Naughton. The chemist and businesswoman running for the Democratic nomination in PA-8 didn’t start the race with the advantage of the DCCC machine, like her opponent Kevin Strouse, but her campaign has clearly been hitting the pavement in SEPA as she announced the endorsements of 40 local officials this week.
Mike Parrish. The Democratic candidate in PA-6 was the victim of attacks from the NRCC and the Congressional Leadership Fund this week. The NRCC even made a mock website of Parrish’s campaign and the Leadership Fund sent out an email with the history of Parrish donating to Republican candidates before he filed to run for Congress as a Democrat.
Tom Wolf. His sizable new list of endorsements is almost enough for an Up Arrow, but what pushed the former Revenue Secretary even higher onto this list is his TV blitz. He released not one but two new commercials this week: one that gently attacked the Governor’s budget proposal and another that promoted his revenue sharing with employees.
Sam Smith. The Speaker of the House barely won reelection in 2012 when he earned the Republican nomination by a few hundred votes in a three way primary. The bad news? His closest opponent, Cris Dush declared his intent to run against Smith again. This time, the third opponent has decided not to run and threw his support behind Dush.
Brad Koplinski. Like Naughton, Koplinski put in the work traversing his potential constituency, hitting up local officials for their endorsements. He scored 22 endorsements across 17 counties. The Harrisburg City Councilman is running for the Democratic nomination for Lieutenant Governor in a crowded field.
Tweet of the week goes to Ian Prior of the NRCC who is taking Parrish’s personal criticism with sardonic humor. For those who missed it, Parrish called Prior everything that was wrong with Washington, and the reason he was running for office.
@msgorman I’m glad I am the reason @MikeParrishPA is running for Congress.

Bram – evidently you read and comment on this website, so I guess the joke’s on you.
Dear Pitt Chancellor Patrick D. Gallagher: I hope you use your position on the UPMC board to implement better governance. I know that Jeff Romoff has consummated a political marriage with our popular governor Tom Corbett. But if Romoff is left to run wild, like UPMC is his private kingdom, then a scandal will blow up that will embarrass you, the University and Romoff’s political marriage partner, Tom Corbett. By the way, please examine closely whether UPMC’s #25 rated cancer program is really World Class. And Chancellor Gallagher if you speak with Scotty Baker maybe he will give you, Mr. Romoff and Governor Corbett a ride in UPMC’s new $50 million dollar jet plane. http://trib.me/1aIEMzg
Allegheny Health Network insists it didn’t draw up its high-profile cancer partnership with Johns Hopkins Medicine as an attack on crosstown rival UPMC, which attracts …
So now Tom Corbett the man who doesn’t know why he is Governor, (well perhaps to improve Acting Governor’s Brabender’s net worth) now is morphing into a compassionate conservative. Signor Ferrari, oh wise sage of Pennsylvania, do you buy this transformation of Tom Corbett? Signor Ferrari of Casablancapa.com does pictures of Tom Corbett remind you of puppies and warm summer days? http://www.philly.com/philly/news/20140209_Corbett_burnishing_a_kinder__ge

Ha, what a joke this website is, Shaughnessy with an up arrow after only raising $15k in the fourth quarter?
