3/13 Morning Buzz

PA Governor Mansion
The PA Governor’s Mansion

Two new polls tell the same old story for Gov. Corbett. Good morning politicos, here’s the Buzz.

Quinnipiac Poll: Most Oppose Corbett Re-Election; Sestak Strongest Dem: Another day, another bad poll for Tom Corbett. Quinnipiac finds that most Pa. registered voters oppose a second term for him. Former Congressman Joe Sestak is the strongest Democratic candidate, though several run ahead of the Governor.

PPP Poll: Corbett Continues to Sink, Trails All Dems: A survey released today by Public Policy Polling is the latest in a trend of sour poll numbers for Gov. Tom Corbett. His approval is negative even among Republican primary voters and he trails every Democratic candidate the pollster matched against him.

Tom Smith Not Running for Governor: GOP U.S. Senate hopeful Tom Smith could give Gov. Tom Corbett a run for his money in a primary according to today’s poll from Public Policy Polling. But he won’t, a spokesman says.

Murzyn to Wojdak: Longtime GOP operative and Corbett administration Deputy Secretary of Legislative Affairs Joe Murzyn will join the lobbying outfit over at S.R. Wojdak & Associates. “We are thrilled to have Joe join our lobbying team,” said Stephen Wojdak, President of S. R. Wojdak & Associates.  “He complements our firm’s current lobbying capabilities with his knowledge of the workings of the Corbett Administration as well as his strong political ties in Western Pennsylvania.” Said Corbett: “Joe is a hardworking, dedicated public servant who worked tirelessly on behalf of the taxpayers. I wish him the best of luck in his new role.”
