4/21 Morning Buzz

Announcing PoliticsPA’s Primary Contest.
The primary election is less than a month away, and today is your chance to play pundit. Who do you think will be the winners of these hot races around the state? The person who guesses the most races correctly out of our list here will win the coveted designation of PA’s Top Pundit, and a shout-out on PoliticsPA.

The water is finally back on in Harrisburg, meaning the paid holiday is over for state workers. Sorry guys. Meanwhile, Governor Corbett announced $134 million in funding for water and sewer improvement projects (which doesn’t include Harrisburg!).

There’s been another gas drilling accident, this time in Bradford County in northeast PA. Whether it was a full on blowout or just a spill remains unclear. One thing that is for sure: prepare to hear more Marcellus debate today.

The National Journal named Mark Critz one of the 10 most vulnerable Democrats due to redistricting, given the likelihood that his district will be merged with that of Jason Altmire.
Speaking of Critz, the Congressman authored a scathing review of the GOP’s budget proposal in the Johnstown Tribune Democrat. Read it here.

Yesterday we broke the news that Patrick Murphy is running for Attorney General. Check out the updated story, including his (impressive) list of endorsements. And check back later today for details on the PA GOP’s swift response.

And finally, from the York Daily Record: a cautionary tale for prospective candidates in a redistricting year. Timothy Crick dropped a few thousand bucks to run for District Justice in York County, only to be informed this week that the district was being phased out.

Good morning politicos, and welcome to the buzz.
