8/19 Morning Buzz

It’s time you got to know Patrick Rothwell. The Harrisburg-born politico is Chief of Staff to Rep. Lou Barletta, and the subject of this week’s COS Spotlight. Click here to learn out the meaning of “Rothwell Duck Truck,” and see what Patrick did to the late Senator Ted Kennedy.

Accountability PA, an independent group run by former Lentz staffers, received a cease and desist letter from the Meehan campaign, asking Accountability to stop airing an ad that the Meehan campaign claims makes “defamatory claims” against Rep. Meehan on Medicare.

Rep. Altmire could see a rematch of his 2010 matchup with Keith Rothfus. The NRCC put Rothfus “On The Radar”, which is a step in their Young Guns program. The NRCC said they are meeting with Rothfus to discuss how best to campaign and fund raise against Altmire.

The commission that will redraw the General Assembly and PA Senate boundaries launched its website yesterday. The site allows political junkies to compare the 1991 and 2001 maps, see the raw data the mapmakers will use for this year’s maps and watch commission hearings.
