Good morning politicos, and welcome to the buzz.
Never Forget: Across Pennsylvania, people spent the anniversary of September 11th remembering those we lost, and thanking the soldiers and first responders who keep us safe. On Saturday, thousands gathered to attend the dedication of the Flight 93 memorial with former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, among other speakers. The Wall of Names commemorates the lives of the 40 American heroes that died fighting hijackers aboard United Flight 93.
Rohrer for Senate: The former State Rep. and 2010 gubernatorial candidate told PoliticsPA that he is looking to get in the race against U.S. Senator Bob Casey. “My effort to get the pieces I need to have in order to do this, I am pursuing 100 percent,” he said.
PA Flooding: The waters have started to recede, and the recovery is starting for thousands of Pennsylvania families. Check PoliticsPA later today to see how the state’s elected officials react and continue to respond to the biggest flooding disaster since Hurricane Agnes.
Obama Jobs Plan: The Pennsylvania delegation’s response to Obama’s jobs speech illustrated two main points: 1) Republicans are unlikely to throw down their arms and go along with a bipartisan plan, and 2) Democrats aren’t exactly rushing to the front line of the President’s next battle.
College Politicos: It’s that time of year again. Labor Day is over, the fall semester has begun and PA College Democrats and Republicans are slowly gearing up for the 2012 elections.
