Pittsburgh City SkylineA big new poll spells trouble for Tom Corbett, and the race for Pittsburgh mayor heats up big time with new attack ads and a poll. Good morning politicos, here’s the Buzz.

Q Poll: Corbett Numbers Remain Negative, Trails 3 Dems: Tom Corbett remains upside down in his quest for re-election. The latest survey from Quinnipiac shows the Governor trailing three Democratic opponents.

Q Poll: Schwartz, Sestak Lead Dem Guv Primary: Allyson Schwartz and Joe Sestak are tied for the lead among Democratic voters. But 59% are undecided and no candidate has over 50% name ID, according to the latest survey from Quinnipiac.

PA-Gov: Wolf Hires a CM; KatieMcGinty.com Launches: In the Democratic primary for Governor, one candidate staffed up and another hit the web.

Pa. Bar OKs All 3 Superior Court Candidates: Voters can’t go wrong in the primary or general election for Superior Court, the Pa. Bar Association says. All three contenders received a rating of “recommended.”

Tom Knox for Philly Mayor: And you thought it was early to be talking election 2014! Businessman Tom Knox officially exited the Pa. Governor race this month, and a few days ago he made official his bid for Philadelphia Mayor — in 2015. He says he’ll spend, “whatever it takes.”

Ravenstahl-Linked Group Slams Peduto in Ad (With Video): An anonymously funded group called “Citizens for a Better Pittsburgh” is slamming Bill Peduto in a new television ad. The spot accuses him of hurting the city for his own City Council district.

Pittsburgh Poll: Peduto 38, Wagner 36: City Councilman Bill Peduto has taken the lead in the Democratic primary for Pittsburgh Mayor, according to the latest poll from Keystone Analytics. He takes 38% to former Auditor General Jack Wagner’s 36%.

Wagner Goes Negative in Response Ad (With Video): Firing back at his opponent, Jack Wagner launched his third ad of the Pittsburgh mayoral primary. It rebuts an earlier ad aired by opponent Bill Peduto and throws a jab at the Councilman.
