The Pa. AFL-CIO is hoping to bring into the fold its members who may be inclined to vote for a Republican for Congress next month. Mailers went out to about 10,000 union members in PA-6, PA-8 and PA-12.
“These are mail pieces aimed at our persuasion targets, which as we get nearer to the election and identify more supporters (through canvassing and phone calls) on both sides becomes a smaller and smaller subset of the electorate,” said spokesman Yuri Beckelman.
The hits are familiar: Medicare, trade deals, etc.
That’s the second thing the AFL-CIO did today. The first was launch this website: “Do I need an ID to vote in PA?”
