The influential conservative political group Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP-Action) announced its first wave of endorsements for U.S. Senate today.
Included in the initial three endorsements of conservatives is Dave McCormick, who ran unsuccessfully for the 2022 GOP Senate nomination, won by Mehmet Oz.
The early support is a signal that AFP-Action’s grassroots activists would be ready to support him should he launch a bid against incumbent Sen. Bob Casey Jr.
The political network established by the conservative industrialists Charles and David Koch has raised more than $70 million for political races as it looks to help Republicans move past former President Donald Trump. Two groups closely affiliated with Charles Koch contributed $50 million of the more than $70 million that has been raised (David Koch died of cancer in 2019). Koch is a major shareholder in Koch Industries, which contributed $25 million to Americans for Prosperity Action, according to a preliminary draft of Federal Election Commission filings. Another $25 million was donated by Stand Together, a nonprofit he founded.
“This is an example of AFP Action getting involved earlier in the election cycle,” said AFP-Action Director Nathan Nascimento. “We’re identifying strong candidates who have the qualities and principles we want to see representing Americans in Washington. Dave McCormick is one of those candidates.”
“Pennsylvania cannot have another term of Bob Casey rubber-stamping Biden’s big-government agenda,” said AFP-Action Senior Advisor Ashley Klingensmith in a news release. “Pennsylvanians have seen enough from Casey to know that he’s not going to stand up to the status quo. They’ve have had enough of record-breaking spending, redistribution, and constraining regulation from Washington—and they’re the ones paying the price.
“That’s why we’re sending out the signal and encouraging Dave McCormick to enter this race and give the Keystone State the representation it needs in Washington.
“Should McCormick choose to run, he will have the backing and enthusiasm of our grassroots who are ready to send him to Washington.”
AFP also endorsed Sam Brown for the Nevada Senate seat currently held by Sen. Jacky Rosen. Brown attempted to run for Senate in the 2022 midterms against Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, but lost the GOP primary to Adam Laxalt — who had secured with former President Donald Trump’s endorsement. Laxalt lost to Masto in November by less than 8,000 votes.
Nebraska Sen. Pete Ricketts, who is running in a special election to fill the remainder of former Sen. Ben Sasse’s term, also will get AFP’s support.

MAGA GOP is now so desperate that they endorse somebody who has not yet declared candidacy, hoping to persuade him to run, even though he lost the last primary election to the guy who lost the general election. LOL
Just what we need a millionaire backed by the Koch brothers organization.
