As Kathleen Kane and Patrick Murphy go head-to-head in their race for the Attorney General position, several editorial boards have announced their endorsements.
Philadelphia’s Daily News chose to endorse Kane. While noticing that both Murphy and Kane are strong Democratic candidates for the position, with Murphy having “impressive credentials,” the Daily News selected Kane. Their editorial board announced that Kane’s focus on “crime” instead of “issues” won them over. The Daily News was also profusely impressed with Kane’s endorsement from former President Bill Clinton.
Likewise last Week, Philadelphia’s Inquirer endorsed Kane. Their editorial board believes that experience falls in her favor. A former AD attorney for Lackawanna County, Kane possesses the pizzazz needed that is detailed in the job description of Attorney General.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette believes that Murphy’s well-roundedness of being a “prosecutor and a politician” qualify him for the Attorney General position. The Post-Gazette was impressed with his legal career embarked on while serving in the military as well as his former U.S. Representative status.
And another, non ed-board endorsement, the Clean Water Action endorsed Murphy for Attorney General.
“During his time in Congress, Patrick demonstrated leadership and a commitment to protecting the environment and health of Pennsylvanians through such actions as co-sponsoring the FRAC Act to protect our drinking water from gas drilling, and help create green jobs here in Pennsylvania,” Clean Water Action stated.
This adds to Murphy’s notable endorsement list, which includes party and union endorsements in addition to the endorsement received from former Governor Ed Rendell.
Former President Bill Clinton backed Kane.

You made some decent points there. I seemed on the internet for the issue and found most people will go along with together with your website.

Whoever thinks that Joe Sestak’s endorsement hurts anyone in a Democratic primary has no political knowledge whatsoever.
Tnardi,
Sestak was not the highest performing Dem. He DID lie and claim he lost by the smallest margin of any other Dem on the ticket, but there were in fact three St leg Dems who lost in closer races.
Sestak hurt the ticket by refusing to participate in a coordinated campaign (after begging to “lead” the ticket during the primary). This led to duplication of resources and wasted efforts. Sestak dropped the word “democrat” all his ads after the primary – and ran away from the rest of the ticket. In the 7th district, Sestak’s team used their GOTV resources election day to place door-knockers with just Sestak, and not the whole ticket (like Lentz did). Sestak made no effort to reconcile with Specter supporters and even turned some away, who offered to help. His job-gate claims embarrassed the President and the party.
David,
Wasn’t Sestak the highest performing statewide Democrat? How did he hurt the ticket?
The reporter forget to mention that Patrick was endorsed by his aunts AND his uncles in this story about ed board endorsements.
Yeah, we DID see how that turned out. The guy they didn’t endorse lost to Toomey, and hurt the entire ticket statewide.
There is one candidate who is running for AG to actually be AG. There is another candidate running for AG as a stepping stone to gov or senate.
Glad to see Murphy getting so much support! He is the kind of guy we need in the AG’s office.
The Inqy and DN endorsed Specter a few years ago… and we all saw how that turned out.
