Early Returns posted an internal poll from the Altmire campaign that showed him leading Rep. Mark Critz by 16 points. Altmire would recieve 50% and Critz would get 34% of the vote. That support comes from Altmire’s current congressional district as well as Westmoreland County which is mostly represented by Rep. Critz for the moment.
The memo states that Altmire leads among Democrats across the ideological spectrum as well as Union and non-Union members.
Early Returns caught up with Critz campaign consultant Mike Mikus who said: “These numbers are very encouraging. Jason currently represents two-thirds of the district but is only able to garner half of the current vote. We are confident voters will support Mark Critz once they learn he is fighting for our shared Democratic values – fighting to create jobs, protect Social Security and Medicare, and stand up for our veterans.”

Critz was a nobody before he ran and offers nothing to the voters. As a republican I will vote for Altmire vs. Rothfus, but I will vote for Rothfus vs. Critz. Altmire is the best shot for the Dems.

I wonder who will be leading when all the Labor endorsements go to Critz. Altmire is a Narcisist and Turzai will crush either of them in the general……remember 1994?
ha ha!! I would say Altmire is the loser…his campaign staff dump himt and work for Critz now! They don’t call him Alt-LIAR for nothing.
I guess to know him is to hate him. Half his voters already know….the rest will soon.
Laura P. Congressman Critz is an outstanding person and Congressman thats just your opinion and you are very wrong in your statement. I have know Mark for more than 18 years and will stand by him. If you want a fighter in your corner it would be him. So try to spin that….
I love the Critz spin. He’s such a loser and so is his campaign staff.
Did they need to commission a poll (and release it)?
The new district has a lot higher percentage of Altmire’s precincts than Critz’s.
Name recognition and sticking with your current guy are going to dominate.
