American Action Network Launches Ads Thanking Southeast Republicans for Supporting Tax Reform

Launching a $2 million television and other multimedia ad campaign, American Action Network Middle-Class Growth Initiative (MCGI) targeted 60 congressional districts across America, including five in Pennsylvania.

Focusing on praising members of congress who are going to vote in favor of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the ads truly focus on benefits of tax cuts for middle class families. Creating jobs that are specific to the state can be a result of tax reform.

Congressmen Ryan Costello, Patrick Meehan (R-Delaware), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Bucks), Charlie Dent (R-Lehigh), and Lloyd Smucker (R-Lancaster) are the Pennsylvania Congressmen targeted. Dent announced earlier this year he would not be seeking re-election.

Corry Bliss, AAN’s Executive Director says “Members of Congress are delivering on their promise to the American people, working tirelessly to cut taxes for workers across the country.”

The AAN has been investing in ads for these congressmen for tax reform this year also, meaning it will likely continue into next year’s election as well.

Additionally, Unions are targeting Costello, Dent, Fitzpatrick and Meehan on tax reform as well.

  1. This bill lowers taxes on just about everyone that pays taxes, and allows for permanent economic growth. This is what we need as a country right now.

    1. You are living in fantasy world, my friend. This bill is a massive giveaway to corporate America; and to the Top # 1 of the wealthiest individuals in America. And, it creates an additional $1 Trillion dollars of debt for me and you as American tax payers. When the trickle down doesn’t trickle, you see Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security benefits reduced in the coming years to pay for it. All in the name of a “Republican win”. This is nit the Republican Party that I’ve known, loved and supported for the past 30+ years. Sad days…. very sad.

  2. Who is the American Action Network (AAN) and who do they support… and where does their funds come from? Billionaires and multi-millionaires. Hmmm…. running ads for the middle class contending a $1,200.+/- tax cut for the middle class. Who are they kidding? All they care about is the corporate tax cut for their multi-billion dollars corporations and themselves.

The American Action Network is a nonprofit issue advocacy group based in Washington, D.C. which promotes center-right public policy.[1] It was established in 2010 by Fred Malek and Norm Coleman (both of whom are strongly affiliated with the Republican Party) as a 501(c)(4) organization.

The American Action Network’s sister organization, the American Action Forum, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focusing on policy research. The American Action Forum is run by former Congressional Budget Office director Doug Holtz-Eakin.

American Action Network officials also run the Congressional Leadership Fund Super PAC, an independent expenditure PAC focused on electing a House Republican majority.

  3. Dems can get a big boast on this issue. But we have to hit hard and lay off on the “hey, at least we’re not TheRump” for just long enough to do so.

Make the supporters of these tax bills explain during reconciliation:

~ After 10 years, the breaks for working class payers sunset, while those for multinational corporations and the estate tax cut are permanent. TheBern tells us that “at the end of 10 years increase taxes on 87 million middle class households – half of the families making $200,000 a year or less.”

~ In order to work, the tax bill requires 13 million to lose health insurance, and cutting $179 billion from Medicaid.

~ Even with such draconian sacrifice by our most vulnerable, and presuming the half trillion in economic growth, we end up with $1 trillion new budget deficit.

Make the supporters explain why they want the above, and explain that we do not.

  4. We need more money for abortions….killing kids is more important to wolf than anything else apparently…
