HARRISBURG — The state Legislature’s highest paid staffer has resigned.
Tuesday was the last work day for Brett O. Feese, a former lawmaker who became the House Republican caucus’s chief legal counsel and director of litigation. His salary was $197,000 a year.
Caucus spokesman Steve Miskin characterized Mr. Feese’s departure as a retirement. He said he didn’t know why Mr. Feese decided to leave the Legislature, where he’s worked for 36 years.
Mr. Feese is among several House Republicans invited to appear before a grand jury investigating a government corruption scandal that has become known as Bonusgate.
