In 10th, new challanger might emerge to face Carney

Former U.S. Attorney Tom Marino (R) is seriously considering challenging Rep. Chris Carney (D-Pa.), and is meeting with the National Republican Congressional Committee today in Washington, D.C., according to two GOP sources familiar with the meeting.

Republicans believe that Carney is vulnerable in his predominantly conservative northeastern Pennsylvania district, which has consistently voted for GOP presidential candidates.

GOP party leaders attempted to recruit Marino to run in the 2008 cycle against Carney, but he eventually declined. According to one Republican operative familiar with the situation, Marino requested today’s meeting with NRCC and he is still in the early stages of any potential campaign.

  1. Congressman Carney and Senators Specter and Casey might wiggle and squirm to keep their jobs. But prior to the Mass. election they were committed to fine me, arrest me, jail me if I did not want to become Obama’s slave and buy mandatory health insurance.
My constitutional rights meant nothing to them! He voted against the bail outs and won my vote. Then It dawned on me
that he only votes against his party when his party does not need the votes.
He fooled me once, but never again.
So interview him now if he still is going to push to put me in jail.
Or isn’t that important now! Ask
him if he will change parties to save himself?
I wish Thomas Marino all the luck in the world because Carney must go.

  2. Chris Carney is a typical politician who is either a nitwit or a liar. You decide.

    1) He claims to be a “Blue Dog” Democrat (i.e., a fiscal conservative), but voted “YEA” on Stimulus I, Stimulus II and Health “Reform”. He voted “Nay” on Cap and Trade, but his party passed the bill anyway (speculation: Carney was allowed to vote “Nay” by the Democrat leadership since the Bill was going to pass without his vote). Carney loves to spend our money and is NOT a Blue Dog.
    2) Carney has stated in his Newsletter that the Health Bill is revenue neutral for the first ten years and would not increase the National Debt. Let’s dissect this: the Bill, as written in the House of Representatives, mandates taxation, Medicare cuts and other “savings” for 4 years before any benefits kick in. So, this “revenue neutral” bill would collect revenue for ten years but only provide benefits for the last six. And, he never would mention what would happen in years 11-20. Good job, Chris…I guess that we’re all morons to fall for that one.
    3) US Naval Service. Chris Carney is an officer in the Naval Reserve. While I applaud his service, I question his continual “Hey, look at me” publicity of this fact. The point that irritates me is that, while his reserve unit deployed to the Middle East sometime after 9/11, he somehow was deployed to the dangerous environment of Langley, VA. Carney never misses an opportunity to emphasize that his military duty is the most important segment of his career, yet schedules his annual two-week active duty stint to coincide with the Democrat National Convention in 2008 and Christmas break in 2009. I question the man’s true motives as to the intent of his military service.
    4) Carney has a doctorate in political “science” and was an associate professor (not a full professor, as his mailings would lead one to believe) at the Worthington Campus of Penn State. As most of the Obama Administration, he is an academic who appears to see his constituents as test subjects in an experimental laboratory. He is a business illiterate who has, undoubtedly, never run a business or had to meet a payroll. We are his ATM machine, while we’re earning money and expendable afterwards.

I am looking for someone to truly represent the 10th Congressional District other than a shifty pantywaist as Chris Carney. Being a Representative takes more understanding of the US Constitution and American ideals than handing out the pork.
