Joyce Murtha has thrown her support behind Mark Critz in his quest to fill the congressional seat left vacant by her husband’s death earlier this month.

The Critz for Congress campaign announced today that Mrs. Murtha will become honorary chairwoman of his campaign to replace 18-term U.S. Rep. John Murtha, who died Feb. 8 from complications of gall bladder surgery.

After Mrs. Murtha announced last week that she wasn’t interested in running for the 12th Congressional District seat in a special election May 18, Mr. Critz, district director of Mr. Murtha, said he was.

Now, Mrs. Murtha is in his corner.
