Republican congressional candidate Tom Marino is in the hospital Wednesday after he was involved in a head-on collision with another car Tuesday night, The Times Leader reports.
A hospital spokesman told the paper Marino is listed in stable condition.
Marino’s campaign manager, who was driving behind the candidate at the time of the incident, said the driver of the other car crossed over the road’s dividing line and struck his car. State police said the driver of the other vehicle has been cited for driving under the influence.
Marino, an ex-U.S. attorney who won the GOP nomination in the 10th Congressional District in mid-May, was returning from a local GOP event when the accident occurred.
He faces Democratic incumbent Chris Carney in the fall.
