She nearly upstaged the man she had come to endorse with a riveting story of having an abortion back in the days before the Roe v. Wade court decision in 1973. The point of her intimate revelation was that women shouldn’t take abortion rights for granted and that Democrat Joe Hoeffel – among the candidates for Pennsylvania governor – is, in her opinion, the most committed to preserving those rights.
