Pennsylvania Democrats decide today whether to allow Arlen Specter to continue fighting for his Senate seat or to end his 30-year career in Washington.
Specter, at 80 years old, is clinging to his political life in a primary battle that may hinge on whether a targeted ground campaign can bring voters out on what is expected to be a dreary day.
With the clock ticking, Specter spent Monday flying across the state, touching down in major areas to, one final time, make his case for re-election.
At Lehigh Valley International Airport, Specter reminded those gathered of the $200 million or more in federal funding he’s brought back to the region for infrastructure, colleges and hospitals. He said he’s running on his record.
