Clayton W. Grabb, a Butler County sales representative, has joined the roster of Republicans vying for the chance to challenge Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper, the freshman Democrat representing Northwestern Pennsylvania’s 3rd Congressional District.
Mr. Grabb describes himself as a fiscal conservative deeply skeptical of government spending, particularly the stimulus package enacted in the first weeks of the Obama administration. He favors a simplification of the tax code by replacing income taxes with the Fair Tax, a form of national sales tax. In an announcement earlier this week, he identified his views with the 9-12 Project, the conservative populist promoted by talk show commentator Glenn Beck.
