Clayton W. Grabb, a Butler County sales representative, has joined the roster of Republicans vying for the chance to challenge Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper, the freshman Democrat representing Northwestern Pennsylvania’s 3^rd Congressional District.

Mr. Grabb describes himself as a fiscal conservative deeply skeptical of government spending, particularly the stimulus package enacted in the first weeks of the Obama administration. He favors a simplification of the tax code by replacing income taxes with the Fair Tax, a form of national sales tax. In an announcement earlier this week, he identified his views with the 9-12 Project, the conservative populist promoted by talk show commentator Glenn Beck.
