NRCC goes up on air with ad against Carney

Read the Times Leader story here:

The National Republican Congressional Committee will fire the first shot in the 10th Congressional District race, and it will be aimed directly at incumbent Democrat Chris Carney.

In a television ad that will start running today, the NRCC asks, “Is Chris Carney’s political career on life support?” The ad shows a vital signs monitor that asks several questions of Carney’s voting record.

The ad claims that Carney has claimed to be bi-partisan, but he has voted with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi 91 percent of the time and that he supported President Barack Obama’s “health care takeover.” The ad says “only 37 percent of Pennsylvanians” support Obama’s plan.

The ad urges Carney to “stop voting with Obama.”

Josh Drobnyk, spokesman for Carney’s campaign, said Carney is the most “fiscally conservative” congressman in the Pennsylvania delegation.
