Pennsylvania governor hopefuls share opinions on failed I-80 tolling plan

As state lawmakers look for a way to pay for highway and bridge construction, the six men vying to be the state’s next governor have their own ideas.

This month, the Federal Highway Administration rejected Pennsylvania’s third application to place tolls on Interstate 80. Without tolls on I-80, lawmakers must find an alternative way to fill a $472 million gap in transportation money for the fiscal year that begins July 1.
