Politico talks to Hafer, who continues to bash Critz

Read the Politico story here:

Former Pennsylvania Treasurer Barbara Hafer is still swinging at Democratic congressional nominee Mark Critz, a day after Critz defeated her for the nomination to run for the late Rep. John Murtha’s seat in a special election.

Hafer told POLITICO she is filing petitions Tuesday to run in a regularly scheduled primary for Murtha’s seat, which is being held on the same day as a special election to fill the remainder of Murtha’s term. Hafer is pressing ahead with her campaign despite pressure from party leaders, and warning that Critz could have severe electoral liabilities.

“This is a flawed candidate that has a lot of ethical problems, and he’s going to have to answer to them,” Hafer said. “Someone can do opposition research and find a lot of skeletons in his closet.

She added: “People want change. They want a straight talker. They want someone who’s not part of the backroom deals. That’s who he is – a legacy candidate who’s part of all the backroom deals.”
