Republican House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) will visit Harrisburg next week on behalf of GOP congressional candidate Dave Argall to give his campaign a fundraising boost.
It’s the seventh candidate the Republican leader will make an appearance for recently in Pennsylvania alone, and the state senator, who faces Republican incumbent Tim Holden in the 17th Congressional District, could use the financial help. His campaign raised eyebrows in July when it reported raising only $77,000 in the second quarter and had just $29,000 cash-on-hand, some of the lowest totals recorded for any high-profile challenger in the state.
Holden, in contrast, has nearly $900,000 on hand.
Still, the Schuylkill County lawmaker benefits from running in a right-leaning mid-state district that could push him over the top despite the financial disparity. His campaign has focused much of its criticism of Holden by linking him to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the Democratic Party’s agenda, and Argall’s campaign manager wasted little time reiterating that point in a brief interview with PoliticsPA on Thursday.
“Our challenge is for Tim Holden to bring in Nancy Pelosi, someone he voted for three years ago, to the district,” said Argall Campaign Manager Jon Hopcraft. “Because we’re more than happy to bring in Congressman Boehner.”
The event will be held at the newly re-opened state GOP headquarters in downtown on Aug. 12.

Now this is funny. The GOP will produce Boehner, but won’t give Argall any cash. Wonder who’s paying Boehner’s travel expenses. That puny $29k on hand could take a hit if Dave is underwriting it.
Argall’s team needs to grow up. With the country at the abyss, all these jokers can think of to talk about is Pelosi, Pelosi, Pelsoi.
These are not serious people, and Dave Argall is not a serious candidate.
