Democratic U.S. Rep. Chris Carney’s campaign has about $485,000 on hand after raising roughly $150,000 during the last fundraising quarter, campaign finance reports show.

Carney, who represents the 10th Congressional District, has three Republicans fighting for the right to challenge him in the general election this year: former U.S. Attorney Tom Marino, businessman Dave Madeira and Snyder County Commissioner Malcolm Derk.

The moderate 10th District is one of many across Pennsylvania to receive an influx of Republican candidates in January, seemingly buoyed by a national environment favorable to the GOP. Carney, courted by the Republican Party late last year to switch parties, cruised to re-election in 2008 against Chris Hackett.
