PoliticsPA is the first to learn that Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta will be announcing his decision whether or not to run for higher office via his website LouBarletta.com this Wednesday morning.

Sources close to the Barletta say it was the Mayor’s idea to use the web to broadcast his decision.  Another high ranking Republican said people should not assume that if  Barletta decides to run in 2010 that it will be for Congress.  Barletta has done polling for the LG race and he spent the first half of the year appearing as an invited guest speaker at many Republican events across the state.  The source went on to say “When you have the high name ID and strong following that Lou Barletta has, its hard not to run for statewide office.”
