U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy raised $586,000 in the year’s first fundraising quarter, according to a campaign source, to give him about $1.3 million on hand.
The Democratic congressman has raised about $2 million this election cycle, including contributions from more than 2,500 people who gave $200 or less, the source said.
The numbers mean Murphy raised more than his likely Republican opponent, former congressman Mike Fitzpatrick, who posted an impressive haul of $510,000 himself in the first fundraising quarter.

It took Murphy more than 13 WEEKS (Jan 1 – Mar 31) to raise $586,000 …. and it took Fitzpatrick 9 weeks (Jan 23 – Mar 31) to raise $510,000.
According to my math, Fitzpatrick raised more per day than Murphy.
All of which proves that Fitzpatrick is gaining a lot of support even as Murphy and his Obama worshiping campaign starts to crash and burn.
