Barbara Hafer announced her campaign team Tuesday for her quest to replace John Murtha in Congress, a group that includes veterans of many Pennsylvania political battles.

Josh Morrow, former campaign manager for Tom Knox’s now-finished gubernatorial big, is the acting campaign manager through this week. Dave Mellet, a veteran of numerous campaign, is the campaign’s day-to-day operations chief.

Joe Trippi, who worked for Howard Dean’s presidential campaign in 2004, and Paul Blank are handling the operation’s media.

Hafer faces Cambria County Controller Ed Cernic Jr, Murtha’s former district director Mark Critz, and former Naval officer Ryan Bucchianeri in a battle to earn the party’s nomination for the May 18 special election.

Hafer, a former state treasurer and auditor general, has indicated she will run in the party’s primary, also set for May 18, even if she isn’t placed on the special election ballot.
