It looks as if state Sen. Jane Orie will face a Democratic opponent in November.
Allegheny County elections officials said today that Democrat Dan DeMarco had three times as many write-in votes as the McCandless Republican, who was attempting to crossfile as a Democrat in the general election.
The preliminary count showed 3,358 write-in votes for Mr. DeMarco and 953 for Ms. Orie.
