A Red Lion Democrat has tossed his hat into the ring for a chance to represent Adams Countians in Congress.
Ryan Sanders, 33, of Red Lion, has his sights set on the state’s 19th district, currently held by Republican Todd Platts. Sanders said Friday he would like to help bring to the House of Representatives bi-partisan conversation that would focus on real issues.
“The past 16 years have been pretty divisive,” he said. “Whether you’re Republican or Democrat, you hate the other guy.”
The big issues in Congress are the economy and health care, “and we’re debating whether Barack Obama is a citizen,” Sanders said, “and death panels — plain and simple, it was misdirection.”
