Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell spoke with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow last night to discuss GOP-backed lawsuits against the health care reform bill. Rendell labeled the suits as purely political, but his relatively kind comments regarding Attorney General and GOP gubernatorial favorite were most telling. Rendell has publicly supported Democratic Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato in the gubernatorial race, but conceded that Corbett is at the head of the (still crowded) pack. Highlights and full video below:
“I like Tom Corbett”
“Tom is…probably the favorite to become the next governor.”
“[Corbett] is too good a lawyer to file this suit.”
“[Republicans] look mean-spirited and irrational.”
“Tom Corbett is a very decent guy and has been a moderate before, he doesn’t need to do this to win the primary.”
