Representative Tim Murphy Votes Against Cutting Spending and Lowering the Deficit

Do as I say, not as I do. That’s the message from Representative Tim Murphy who talks a good game about government spending but then voted against a measure today that will enforce fiscal discipline in next year’s federal budget. Representative Murphy’s vote against cutting federal spending for America’s budget comes as struggling families back in Pennsylvania are forced to tighten their own belts amid these tough economic times.

“Representative Tim Murphy’s refusal to cut federal spending after his tough talk about spending and deficits is hypocritical.  Representative Tim Murphy just reminded voters of the all talk, no action reckless Republican approach that led to the mountain of debt we currently have,” said Ryan Rudominer of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “The next time Representative Murphy talks about the need for fiscal discipline in Washington, folks will remember his vote today against actually doing something about it when he had the chance.”
