Some fun facts about the upcoming election:

- One-third of the Scranton School Board is running for state office: Chris Phillips for the 22nd district Senate seat; Kathleen McGuigan for the 113th House district seat; and Bob Lesh for the 112th House district seat. - Democratic congressional candidate Corey O’Brien’s birthday is Sept. 11.

- State Senate candidate Thomas J. Fadden actually worked for New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani during Sept. 11.
