Democratic lieutenant governor candidate Jonathan Saidel unveiled his first TV spot Thursday, an ad set hit the airwaves statewide starting Friday.
The 30-second spot, available on the candidate’s Web site, cites Saidel’s tenure as controller in Philadelphia, saying he helped turn around the city in the 1990s.
“Today Pennsylvania faces tough times, and Harrisburg doesn’t seem to get it,” a narrator intones. “So Jonathan Saidel is back.”
The debut of the ad comes days after he received the endorsement of Governor Ed Rendell.
Saidel faces state Rep. Scott Conklin and former Commonwealth Court judge Doris Smith-Ribner in the Democratic lieutenant governor primary. It’s unclear if Conklin and Smith-Ribner will have nearly the money necessary to run statewide ads of their own.
