Sestak says Specter’s polling numbers show he’s a general election failure

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Joe Sestak said Thursday that his opponent Arlen Specter’s poll numbers show him to be a political liability in the general election.

Look at his fall in the polls,” said Sestak while taping a podcast in part hosted by PoliticsPA. “Now he is a general electorate failure for the Democrats. The last two polls have me beating Toomey, have him losing, because 59 percent of the people don’t believe he should be re-elected.”

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story stated that Sestak said Governor Ed Rendell’s poll numbers made the governor, and the candidates he supported, a general election failure. That was incorrect. PoliticsPA regrets the error.
