Former Congressman Pat Toomey, R-Lehigh Valley, who is running for U.S. Senate in 2010, took aim at President Barack Obama Thursday, one day before Obama is scheduled to kick off his White House to Main Street tour with a stop in Allentown. According to the Lehigh Valley Express-Times, Toomey said the serial bailouts of U.S. banks, automakers, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and companies like AIG have to stop. Toomey called Obama’s plans for health care reform and energy cap and trade legislation a sure-fire way to kill job creation. But Democratic Party leaders in Pennsylvania countered Toomey’s critique of the president’s economic recovery policies, calling Toomey tone deaf to the needs of Main Street.
