We regret to inform you that summer has given way to fall, which means that flu season has officially begun.
Every year at this time, doctors try to come up with new and creative ways to convince people to get flu shots.
In that vein, Montgomery County Commissioner and physician Val Arkoosh will be administering flu shots to her fellow commissioners Josh Shapiro and Bruce Castor.
“Is there a doctor in the house?,” the trio write in a press release. “There will be on Thursday, October 1 when Commissioner Val Arkoosh, M.D. administers flu shots to her commissioner colleagues, Josh Shapiro and Bruce L. Castor, Jr. at the board’s bi-weekly meeting as a way to encourage county residents to take advantage of the county’s flu shot program. Arkoosh will give Shapiro and Castor their shots after she is immunized by a health department staffer.”
There were no indications about whether this will become an annual tradition although that will probably depend on the outcomes.

I think it’s a health care promotion by the county board to encourage people to get flu shots. So, if it reminds/encourages people, that’s good. Also, it’s some bipartisan cooperation, which IS news in PA.
