Lou Barletta’s campaign for the U.S. Senate is getting some new faces.
On Monday, Politico reported the three new roles to be taken on by Vincent Galko, Matt Beynon, and Jon Anzur.
Galko, former Executive Director of the PAGOP who directed Barletta’s upset victory in 2010 over Rep. Paul Kanjorski, was named as general consultant to the campaign. He worked for Rep. Ryan Costello for several cycles. Beynon is with BrabenderCox and will direct communications. He previously served as comms director for Sen. Rick Santorum’s 2016 and 2012 presidential campaigns and Paul Mango’s bid for Governor. Anzur will move over from the official side to serve as Campaign Manager. He ran Barletta’s 2016 congressional bid. Cody Jones is transitioning from Campaign Manager to Senior Advisor.
The Politico report cited a source close to the campaign who said the move was made “after two months of sluggish fundraising and rumors of disorganization.” It also said more changes could be on the horizon. The report was published Monday morning, the first business day following the publication of Q2 fundraising reports.
Beynon dismissed the negative suggestion and characterized the changes as par for the course for a growing campaign.
“Last week’s report by POLITICO was another sign of positive momentum and expansion for the Barletta Campaign,” said Beynon. “I’ve been an advisor to Congressman Barletta’s campaign since he announced his run for the Senate and, as the race has heated up, I am simply taking a more active role with the campaign.”
“The addition of Vince Galko as General Consultant brings a wealth of knowledge and decades of successful political experience to the campaign,” he added. “We are all excited about the Congressman’s progress and look forward to defeating Bob Casey this November.”
Barletta’s campaign raised $1.28M from late April until the end of June, slightly higher than the previous quarter’s total of $1.26M. His campaign reported $1.56M cash on hand by the end of June.

Where is Mr Barletta? I live in Western PA and have never heard much about his campaign. He is against the open borders. He would have a lot of support here if people knew about it.
They need real expertise. Hire Sam Chen.
Batletta the clown is going down!!
Glad to see Trump fascist Barletta circling the toilet bowl. Voters: flush again in November.
How come all the shakeups in Scott Wagner’s campaign never get no coverage?
There was another one recently
Because there haven’t been any??
They got Jon “The Answer” Anzur to run it all?!?! First good move this campaign has made.
Lipstick, meet pig.
Beynon will lead Barletta to victory just like he did with Santorum and Mango……. oh wait
Why is no one hiring political genius Bob Salera? I mean at least he only lost to Wolf by 9.
You know things are bad when the fine folks at BrabenderCox have come to pick the meat off the carcass. Now there’s even less incentive for donors to part with their money.
Jon Anzur is a complete professional. The Barletta campaign will soar with Anzur as his CM.
Always a bad sign when fund raising is way behind and you are changing staff 100 days before the election. And what is even worse is Scott Wagner is 19 points behind and Barletta is only 17 points behind in his race. The times are not with Barletta and Scott Wagner as we move quickly toward Nov 6th.
“rumors of disorganization”
Looks like they weren’t rumors.
Beynon-
“as the race has heated up”
I think you are confusing that with heat of “Summer”. There is no “race” when Casey’s pretty much across the finish line and Barletta hasn’t laced up his shoes (and is facing the wrong direction).
“more active role”
Cashing in with more hours to eat up the money that isn’t going to make a difference in Barletta’s landslide loss.
Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic!
Near, far, wherever you are I believe….
