Republican Senate candidate Jeff Bartos is pushing his second quarter fundraising effort that reportedly brought in over $1 million.
“I am thrilled that we have [exceeded] our goal for our first fundraising quarter. We have tremendous support throughout the Commonwealth and across the nation, and are especially grateful for the growing grassroots support of our campaign,” Bartos said according to PoliticoPro.
Bartos is confident his campaign will have the resources to be competitive throughout the race since it has managed to close the second quarter with over a million dollars on hand, according to PoliticoPro. He raised over $1,072,000 in this second quarter of 2017, exceeding his goals and expectations. Bartos is one of six other candidates vying for Bob Casey’s Senate seat in 2018, but believes his fundraising totals show he has grassroots support and can continue to build that support.
Bartos, a Reading born, contracting company owner has announced his plan to challenge Senator Bob Casey in the 2018 election. In the ten days following his initial announcement, Bartos reportedly raised $700,000. This left him with over $300,000 on hand at the close of the first quarter.
“It shows that Pennsylvanians are ready for change and tired of the failed policies of Bob Casey, who has voted with Elizabeth Warren 93% of the time,” Bartos told PoliticoPRO of the fundraising.
Among his competitors are state Reps. Rick Saccone (R-Allegheny) and Jim Christiana (R-Beaver), Borough Councilmen Andrew Shektor and fellow businessmen Bobby Lawrence and Paul Addis. Local Congressman Lou Barletta (R-Luzerne) is also considering a Senate bid after speaking with President Trump. Congressman Mike Kelly (R-Butler) is rumored to be considering a run as well.

His problem is he is he is.not Lou Barletta or mike Kelly. All the fundraising in the world is.not going to dampen the RSCC and POTUS appetite for either of them.
Just an FYI there are two others running for this seat. Scott Wagner(R) and Dale Kerns (L). Also can someone share what happens with the campaign funds raised, if that person does not win?
Koch Brothers surrogate?
Possibly. I believe he is wealthy to begin with. He is a real estate developer.
Met him twice and appears personable/knowledgeable; met one of his campaign aides @ a cookout last weekend and also appears to be confident he will receive the nod.
This guy screams establishment. Looks like another typical politician trying to buy his office. This is not what we want.
Agreed. Curious to see what other candidates raised though… caseys got millions on hand, gonna take a lot of dough to beat him
I have met a few candidates. The only one who impresses me was Cynthia Ayers. She was genuinely nice and intelligent, and a good resume. She isn’t establishment so she has my vote. I am worried about her and the other candidates ability to fundraise.
I have never heard of her. She is running for Senate in PA?
Yes, she is running for US Senate in PA. I think she’s the only non political candidate.
I think this tells us that the “smart money” thinks Sen. Casey is vulnerable but is the smart money right in thinking he is vulnerable to an Establishment Republican.
From the usual sources, I would think.

No doubt Bartos will be the nominee.
Voting 93% of the time with Elizabeth Warren is a big WIN for Senator Casey. I wish we had at least 50 more like him.
How did he have Q1 COH if he didn’t announce until Q2?
