BREAKING UPDATE:
According to the Times-Tribune, Vice President Biden has cancelled his trip to Scranton, originally scheduled for Thursday Nov 2, likely due to severe weather from Hurricane Sandy.
His wife, Dr. Jill Biden, has also cancelled campaign events on Oct 28-29 in Pennsylvania as well as North Carolina due to inclement weather.
Vice President Joe Biden is set to visit his hometown of Scranton on Nov 1, just four days before the 2012 election.
It’s Biden’s second visit to the Electric City in recent months. Biden spoke to supporters on back in July, in a speech devoted to the importance of Independence Day, his Scranton roots, and also to rally the troops of a fiscally drained City of Scranton.
We’ve seen this move before from Biden. In the 2008 Presidential election, Biden also campaigned in Scranton days before election
Biden’s trip to PA could also be a strategic move for the Obama/Biden camp: a move to reassert Biden’s Pa. roots, as well as to make sure Paul Ryan doesn’t have the final Pa. visit.
Additional details, as to when and where he will be speaking, will be posted when available, but one thing’s for certain: Biden’s comments toward Scranton will be much more pleasant than his impersonator Jason Sudeikis.
