State Rep. Steve Bloom (R-Cumberland) announced he is running for the new 13th Congressional district that includes most of south central Pennsylvania.
“I look forward to ensuring the voices and values of families in our communities across the 13th Congressional District are heard loud and clear in Washington,” Bloom said.
Bloom had been running to replace Congressman Lou Barletta in the old 11th district, but the newly drawn maps shifted the line between districts in Cumberland county.
The new 13th district includes parts of Adams, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Cumberland, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Somerset and Westmoreland counties.

He has no chance. Until two weeks ago he had absolutely no connection to 99% of the people in what used to be the Ninth.
3rd place behind Eichelberger and Halvorson is the absolute best he could hope for.
Makes sense probably one of the strongest conservative records in the state running for most conservative seat
Good choice Steven is to run for congress maybe I might support you for this race in 2018.
That is the most Republican of the 18 districts, by D/R ratio. The new 12th has almost identical ratio.
