Bob Casey Backs Harry Reid, Champions Washington Party Bosses’ Reckless Agenda Over Pennsylvania’s Best Interests

WASHINGTON – With his lockstep vote today to keep U.S. Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) as Senate Majority Leader, liberal U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) once again put his Washington party bosses’ reckless, job-killing agenda ahead of the best interests of his constituents in Pennsylvania.

As U.S. Senate Majority Leader, Reid rammed President Barack Obama’s failed $787 billion stimulus debacle and massive health care overhaul into law. Reid also agrees with President Obama’s strong support for a job-killing cap-and-trade energy tax that would hurt Pennsylvania’s families, seniors, farmers, and small businesses.

“Clearly, Senator Casey wasn’t listening two weeks ago, when Pennsylvanians rejected business as usual in Washington and chose Pat Toomey as their next Senator,” said National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Press Secretary Amber Marchand.  “By ignoring his constituents and supporting a big-spending, tax-hiking, pro-ObamaCare liberal like Harry Reid, Bob Casey has once again demonstrated that Pennsylvanians cannot trust him to represent their best interests and values in Washington, and that’s why voters will no doubt elect a fiscally responsible leader as their next U.S. Senator in 2012.”
