Bonusgate witness testifies he received $40,000

 

As the prosecution’s star witness in the Bonusgate corruption trial of former State Rep. Mike Veon, Mike Manzo has testified for 34 hours over five long days. He has fought back tears once; battled a nasty head cold with a steady supply of tissues; disparaged his former boss, then-House Democratic powerhouse Bill DeWeese, as “out to lunch”; admitted spiking computer files to “hide things” from authorities; and confessed to an affair with a former beauty queen he set up in a fake state job.
