Wednesday, Democratic congressional hopeful Candidate Rick Daugherty released his first and last television advertisement refuting the opinions and ideas of Republican incumbent, Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Lehigh) when it came to jobs.
Nicole Radzievich of the Allentown Morning Call first reported the buys.
The spot, which features Daugherty speaking directly to both the camera and the people of Pennsylvania, is set in a textile factory filled with laborers.
“My number one priority in Congress is to stop unfair trade practices, and bring our jobs back to America.” assures Daugherty, criticizing free trade deals.
Update: One GOP source said Daugherty’s ads had come down, not because of lack of funding, but because of improper disclosure language.
Dent’s latest (and last) advertisement lumps Daugherty – the Dem party chair of Lehigh County – in with Washington Democrats. It’s a split positive/negative.
“The choice is clear.”
The ad, stating Charlie Dent will reduce over-regulation on small businesses and vote for American energy to create good paying jobs, also jabs Daugherty again. “Daugherty’s bad ideas destroy jobs; Charlie Dent’s good ideas create them.
Republican-favorable redistricting in Pa-15 and a substantial difference in fundraising (Quarter 3 fundraising revealed a total of $8,906 raised by Daugherty, while Dent received a whopping $260,710) will play heavily into this election and make Dent a safe favorite.
While Dent’s ads are in decent rotation, Daugherty would be lucky to see his ad 10 times on network television.
