Congressman Chaka Fattah is guilty.
Today a jury of his peers found him guilty on all charges.
According to the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Rep. Fattah and his three co-defendants were found guilty under the RICO Act.

Fattah has represented Pennsylvania’s 2nd Congressional District since 1995. He was defeated in April’s Democratic primary by State Rep. Dwight Evans.
It is not immediately clear if Rep. Fattah will resign from Congress before January as he is under no legal obligation to do so.
His sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 4th.
Fattah’s son was also sentenced to five years in jail earlier this year.
We’ll have more on this story to come.
UPDATE: Congressman Chaka Fattah has released the following statement:
“This is an extraordinarily difficult day for me and my family. A jury has decided that based on the evidence presented to them that I am guilty of charges presented by the government. Today’s decision notwithstanding, it has been my privilege to serve the constituents of the Second Congressional District for over 20 years. We have done important work and passed legislation that has helped tens of millions of young people achieve their dream of a college education, ensured that hundreds of thousands of families facing foreclosure have been able to remain in their homes, and millions suffering from brain related diseases now have hope that a cure or a treatment is closer today than yesterday. I continue to be proud of that record. While today’s outcome isn’t what we had hoped, I respect our nation’s judicial system. I want to thank the people of the Second Congressional District for the honor of serving them.”

You’ll find some interesting points in time in this post but I don’t know if I see all of them center to heart. There is certainly some validity but I will take hold opinion until I look into it further. Very good write-up , thanks and we want additional!

Wait … what … The Feds have not indicted Seth Williams yet???
Hey Observer, don’t forget the Shusters!
So Fattah is indicted and is going to jail for using campaign funds to pay off a campaign debt and helping pay his sons tuition and Farnese is indicted for using campaign funds to buy a ward election but Seth Williams is ok to use campaign funds to pay his gym membership and union league bar tab? Must be good to be a prosecutor and friends with Zane Memeger!!!
I have SO MANY screen names !!!
Enjoy “Club Fed” you criminal! Hope they give you a nice long stay and bankrupt you too! Take away his pension too, the slimebucket!
Has #ShadyKatie been indicted yet?
As long as they are not sending me and my husband, Frank Fina’s lawyer, to jail.
ARE THEY??!!???
Prezel, McCord, Kane, the Orie sisters, the Fattahs, etc. etc. it looks like we are going to have to build an entire new prison due to lawmaker overcrowding….
Dear FBI – Please make sure Seth Williams does not get away with his crimes. He still has Marc Costanzo and Claude Thomas on his staff and on his payroll. And he demoted a top female deputy who suggested Fina be fired. Seth must go!!!
Sad, I know everyone else takes joy in others pain. Shame on you. Judge not. I have never met this man, but its sad.
Like father like son
I don’t live nearby but based on what I have read and heard, two conclusions:
1. The verdict seems reasonable, given the evidence presented.
2. Bungy perpetually has his head so far up his ass that he cannot stay on topic.
Hope DA Seth Williams is paying attention. He’s next !!!
